Miju Models – Small jig for scale aircraft

by FoxThrowaway | Jun 14, 2026

Basic information

The full name of the jig is Miju Models JIG-AIR-SMALL-STANDARD, but for the sake of the review, I will call it just the "jig".
Miju models mentioned that the jig is appropriate for 1/144, 1/72 and smaller 1/48 scale aircraft. Thankfully, I can test those claims.
It's the first jig that I ever bought, so my opinions will be reflected in that way.

All the information about the jig comes in the instructions (I show them a bit down on the page), but they are unfortunately exclusively in Polish.
I bought it from super-hobby.com for 9,98€ - https://www.super-hobby.com/products/Maly-Statyw-Lotniczy.html

Parts

Parts come inside a cardboard box and are separated into 2 separate plastic bags. One with larger parts and the other with the smaller ones.

On the included instruction sheet, like a true model kit, there is also a parts list, so make sure all the parts are present. As mentioned before, the instructions are in Polish, but if you build models, I expect the modeller to be able to build something without textual instructions heh

All plastic parts are 3D printed with a multicolor printer. The white markers are 10 mm apart, so you can easily set up the jig for the aircraft of your choosing. The finish on the plastic parts is really good and I appreciate that Miju didn't go with a large layer height. The smaller layer height adds to the quality of the jig and also increases the strength, so you should be able to "abuse" it more, though, I don't see why you would do that to a small-scale jig.

All the clamping bolts have a metal nut on the other side, with a 3D printer plastic cover, so it's quite easy to set everything up.

This being a smaller jig, the two wing supports are not height adjustable, but the tail support is, which is appreciated, meaning there's less fiddling around. Just adjust the back screw, and you're done.

You get a strip of foam with self-adhesive backing on it, so you're able to put it on all the supports so they don't damage the model during use. My foam strip has enough for 3 jigs, so don't worry if you mess up.

All supports have hooks on each side, meaning you can use rubber bands around the model to secure it more into place. The rubber bands are also included!

In the end, we get a nice small jig, but how does it hold aircraft?

1/48 scale aircraft

I tried using it with a 1/48 scale Bf 109 from Eduard, and using the rubber bands, the model is held very securely in place. There's absolutely no wiggling and pushing the model lightly doesn't more it around. Approved!

1/72 scale aircraft

I had to readjust the jig slightly as it's a smaller plane, but that took me less than a minute. This time, I decided to forego the rubber bands, but the model is still held well.

This is a Mistercraft 1/72 Bf-109G-14

1/144 scale aircraft

And now for the smallest of all aircraft - the 1/144 scale! For this test, I decided to take one of the smaller planes around - the A5M4 with its grand 74mm of width. The supports had to be inverted, but again, the model is being held on quite well. I am genuinely surprised at how well it's holding the models on.

Conclusion

For 10€, the price of a single kit, you get a really well-made tool which will save you all kinds of trouble with decalling, rigging and weathering. It's compact, and as shown, it can hold a variety of aircraft, making it a valuable tool for any small-scale modeller.

Miju makes a jig for larger aircraft, so if you're usually making jets in 1/48 scale or 1/32 scale aircraft, check out the product range.
