FlaK 37

The German FlaK 36/37 is one of, if not the most famous artillery piece of the Second World War. Known for both its anti-tank, anti-air and artillery role, it’s the mainstay of the Nazi Wehrmacht during the Second World War.

After the War, the FlaK proved themselves still worthy and in Yugoslavia, they were used well into the 90’s during the Croatian War of Independence as part of coastal artillery. From first hand sources and from photos that I’ve seen, I know that at least 3 FlaK pieces were used for training purposes as late as 2014. (!!!), but I am unable to prove that to you here. I also don’t know their fate since, but knowing Croatian conservation departments, I fear the worst.

Anyway, enough of that! Enjoy some photos of the FlaK 37 from the Pivka Par of military history in Slovenia!
